Omaha Colleges and Universities
Omaha, Nebraska, the ‘Gateway City of the West,’ is an epicenter for cultural and economic development. The city has the eighth highest number of both Fortune 500 companies and billionaires per capita, and ranks among Newsweek’s top ten high tech havens. Its cultural heritage is grounded in institutions such as the Joslyn Art Museum and the renowned Omaha Community Playhouse. Recently, Omaha has been the site of a “cultural awakening” marked by an alternative arts scene and the “Omaha Sound,” a music revival.
Omaha’s cultural renaissance is energized by the city’s colleges and universities. The University of Nebraska at Omaha is the second largest university in the state and in the University of Nebraska system. Other Omaha colleges and universities are primarily private, four-year colleges such as Bellevue University, Clarkson College, and Creighton University. Nebraska Christian College and Nebraska Methodist College are among Omaha’s faith-based college and university options.
