Minneapolis Colleges and Universities
In the past few years Minneapolis, Minnesota has earned honors as one of Travel + Leisure’s five “up and coming” destinations, and Frommers’ top 12 world destinations for 2007. The “gorgeous city layout” and budding art scene explain the attraction of this Midwestern metropolis. Minneapolis is in the midst of a design boom, led by architectural marvels Guthrie Theater and the Weisman Art Museum. The Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of the Arts, and the Minnesota Orchestra add to the city’s cultural refinement.
The University of Minnesota, a Big Ten school with an enrollment of over 50,000 students, is the focal point of Minneapolis’ colleges and universities. Other prominent Minneapolis colleges and universities include Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Augsburg College. Minneapolis is also home to career-focused colleges and universities such as Art Institutes International Minnesota and Dunwoody College of Technology.
